| High-speed cameras are getting more inexpensive and high-frame-rate video images are becoming easier to use. It has also become possible to transfer high-frame-rate video images to a computer in real time. High-frame-rate video images have been used mostly for observation or analysis of high-speed phenomena, but we can explore new applications by using them for real-time sensing, which we call "high-speed vision". In this presentation, we show some application examples of high-speed vision including robot control, 3D sensing, and human computer interaction. | ||
| Biographical Sketch: | Takashi Komuro received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in mathematical engineering and information physics from the University of Tokyo in 1996, 1998, and 2001, respectively. At present he is an associate professor in Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Saitama University. His current research interests include image sensing and 3D user interfaces. | |
