Best Poster Awards

Best Poster Awards will be presented to top-evaluated poster presentations in three categories each.

Physical Applications
Bio-Medical Applications
Selection will be made based on voting by the participants. Ballot paper will be given to all the participants at the registration. Each winner will receive 100,000 JPY and a Certificate. Award ceremony will be carried out during the conference banquet.

Slow Motion Video Awards　

Slow Motion Video Awards are open to everyone. The duration of each clip should be 7 to 60 seconds. Submissions from scientists to school kids and homemakers are all welcome.

Artistic Slow Motion Video Award
Entertaining Slow Motion Video Award

Four distinguished scientists, with expertise ranging from sport to art, will evaluate the entries. The award for the Excellent Slow Motion Video will be 200,000 JPY, and for the other three categories 50,000 JPY. Plaques and certificates will also be presented during the conference banquet.

The nac Award is supported by nac Image Technology Inc.

Award winners

Rihito Kuroda and Shigetoshi Sugawa
for their development of an Ultra High Speed CMOS Image Sensor with improved light sensitivity that is capable of capturing 20 million frames per second with a significant reduction in power consumption. This sensor is now commercially employed in the Shimadzu Hyper Vision HPV-X2 camera.
